Champagne Taittinger, Prelude Grands Crus Brut

Sale price ($) 1.825

The wine’s brilliant, pale yellow color with silvery reflections indicates the high proportion of Chardonnay. This Champagne is subtle and fresh on the nose, with mineral aromas that quickly give way to notes of elderflowers and spicy cinnamon. In the mouth, lean mineral Chardonnay notes delicately balance the aromatic strength of Pinot Noir. The lively palate is dominated by fresh citrus and white peaches in syrup. Over time, this Champagne develops to become more full-bodied, round and silky with a rich, lingering finish that bursts with flavor.

This stunning champagne from Taittinger, this is made with only chardonnay and pinot noir grapes from grands crus vineyards. Citrussy, fresh and floral. Utterly sublime.

The Colour of the Taittinger Prélude “Grande Crus” is characterized by a bright pale yellow with silver highlights, due to the strong presence of fine Chardonnays. The fineness of bubbles persists, drawing a lace of carefully creamy foam. On the nose at first, minearl scents are expressed to finally give way to floral and vegetal aromas, enhanced by delicately spicy cinnamon keys. On the palate, the attack of this champagne is surprisingly intense, brighlty fresh on citrus notes. The texture evolves into a more rounded and silky aspect, giving way toßthe expression of white peach in syrup flavours. The final of the Taittinger Prelude “Grands Crus” is long and intense.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The NV Brut Prélude Grands Crus has a very clear, complex and fresh yet intense bouquet, currently with more Pinot and walnut/macadamia flavors rather than Chardonnay flavors. Almond biscuits and fine brioche aromas come through only on the second nose. Bottled in 2012, this should be based on the 2011 vintage. It is a full-bodied, fine and elegant but also very complex and persistent Prélude that was sourced in only grand cru vineyards. Disgorged in October 2016 (dosage: nine grams per liter), tasted in November 2017.

Taittinger Prelude Grands Crus Reviews

Excellent champagne!

I have tasted plenty of champagnes last Summer when I visited Eparnay and Reims. This champagne is one of the top and worth the cost.

Fantastic!I work for and independent wine and spirits shop and at our staff christmas party we blind tasted 10 different champaign’s ranging from cheap stuff right up to Dom Perignon. Afterwards we all agreed that this was the best one, and for the price we found it hard to fault. Its very elegant and in no way harsh like other champaign’s, the citrus notes are again gentle but not subdued, this is not as rich as Gosset or Bollinger but I prefer that myself. I enjoyed it so much I got a couple of bottles to treat the family over christmas. Just buy it you will not be disapointed.
